"After moving to Roberts Creek on the sunshine coast of British Columbia I was searching for a Kachelofen builder and found Carl Sidl from Sidl Masonry Heating in Courtenay and he together with his father Stefan built first our outdoors pizza oven and after that our Kachelofen.
My understanding is that all the material for building the Kachelofen are from Europe and Carl did a fantastic job and the outcome is as I exactly expected and my Kachelofen is the only one on the sunshine coast!
The craftsmanship was first class and the oven performs 100% and all our visitors are very impressed! Radiant wood heat is the healthiest, the best and cheapest since we have the wood on our property.
We also had so far 40 pizza parties with relatives and friends and everybody is enjoying our parties. I can highly recommend the work of Carl to anybody and wish him further success in the future. Keep up the good work!"

“After a long search for a European quality Kachelofen (without the tiles) we found Sidl Masonry Heating. Carl worked with us to plan the best location in our home for the masonry heater - and then he came in and set to work! It was fascinating to watch the heater get built over 7 days and a couple of days later to have the stucco layer added.
Since the heater was finished we have had it going - and 2 or 3 fires a day heats our home very comfortably. With the fire on (and for about 8-10 hours on), our furnace has not needed to be on - and that was our goal. Carl is extremely hard working and focused in construction mode, is very tidy (we lived in the space through the construction process) and is a real joy to have in our home. We are loving the warmth and the look of this efficient wood heater. Thank you Carl!”
